Single dad in need of help

I am the single Dad of 3 great kids.  My oldest is special needs and my other two are young.  I have been self employed in the mortgage industry for the last several years in Michigan.  I lost everything and find myself unable to support my kids(or myself).  Although I am divorced, it was not of my choosing.  My ex-wife had an affair, left me and was pregnant within 1 month of me moving out.  I can now only have my kids half of the time.  I was devastated.  I adorded my wife and the thought of not seeing my kids everyday was heartbreaking.  At that time I cursed God for taking kids away.  How could he have let this happen?  It has been 3 years since the start of her affair and my downword spiral.  In my despair I have turned to God and asked for his help.  And I have recieved it!  Sometimes in small ways.  Other times He has let me know that I can undure.  That He has a plan for me.  That He does care.  He values my life when I didn't.

I am now in a situation where I have $200 to my name.  I am buying groceries with that money today.  I had no income for 2009 or 2010 and have borrowed as much as I could from family.  I cannot recieve unemployment because I was self employed.  I am 5 weeks behind on rent and I fear when my ex-wife finds out she will pursue custody of my kids.  I cannot bear that and am asking for help.  Please know that I am sincere.  I have always been a very fortunate person in life and have never found myself in a situation quite like this.  I have earned a very good income my whole life and just need some help getting back on my feet.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and may God bless you and yours.

About mr_texarcana

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. My story begins with a two story fall that fractured two vertebrae. I was running my own small contracting company. I was off of work 6 months and had to sell off my equipment to pay off two cars and keep our heads above water. The money ran out 3 months ago and we were forced out of our home. I'm getting up and around again and could use some help with gas, bills, and saving for our own place, since we are currently living with family. Thank you for reading.

About ms1010

...unlike so many in need, we don't have any kids, we're almost 50 and self-employed.  When things were good for us we always helped our families for example my parents needed help with expensive medicines for diabetes and heart conditions but since both are doing very well, thank goodness for that!! When my husbands sister needed support for her 3 kids in between jobs and when my older brother fell on his head and needed help to support his 2 kids when his wife just walked away.  His situation practically drained us -- now we're behind on our bills and the stress has been almost unbearable.  When hurricane Wilma passed through Florida we took time off from our business to help my parents get their home back in order because of damage, no electric, no running water, etc for almost a week and the side of their house was damaged and we chimed in to help with that as well. Although that was a while ago, it seems that time just slipped away and we just can't get caught up. My husband recently had emergency heart surgery and that was another set back although we worked through it and contineu to forge ahead.  We CAN get back on our feet -- we just need some financial assistance so we can get back on our feet.  Please help!!

Hi My name is Dale. I feel really strange doing this, but I don't what else to do at this point. My wife made a promise to a long time friend who has since passed on 2 years ago. The promise was that she would take of her family which she left behind. They consist of her 64 year old husband(who has diabetics & heart problems, her uncle 86(who has alzheimers) her adopted 16 year old daughter and 18 year son. My wife handles all of their finances and medical bills with the help of the state. When I married my wife 3 years ago, I got to meet her long time friend. She died of cancer. My wife suffers with depression. It hit her real bad a year and a half ago. She had to come out of work. I'm self employed. I have a flooring installation business. Business has been good, but hard on me and my wife with the added responsibilty. The family lives in an apartment just across the street. It makes it tuff keeping an eye on the elders as well as the teenagers. We have an opportunity to bring them under one roof, which would of make it easy for all. We need to come up with $31,820.70 for down payment on a 6 bedroom home. We are able to come up with $6,325.00, leaving a balance of $25,495.70.We have a contract on the house and are schedule to close on April 25,2008. I don't know any one out there in cyberspace. I just hope & pray we can get this house. If interested in helping, make out check or money order to Tidewater First Mortgage, care of crystal and dale parker. Thank you so much for your heart felt giving.  Dale

About lost one

I am a 37 year old from south Fl. I have never taken government assistance, I've always paid my taxes. I just recently got hurt while working. Since I am a self employed construction worker. I do not qualify for workman's comp. I hurt my back when I fell 18 ft off a roof. I have no medical insurance. My M.R.I was 1800.00 alone, Just to find out I herniated two of my disk. I don't have the money for the physical therapy and chiropractic treatments.I tried for government assistance, But they said I made too much money last year. I told them I hadn't made a pay check in months. The best they could do was give me $20 a month in food stamps. So i have spent my entire adult life paying taxes and for what? I am about to lose my home.  I don't know what to do. I am not permanently disabled. So I don't qualify for social security. I spent ten years of my life defending this country 88-98. This is the thanks I get. Sorry to bother everyone with my problems. Please say a prayer for me

I am a mother of three truely great kids, 2 girls ages 7 and 12, and a little boy getting ready to turn 3. I love my kids and spend all my time with them while my boyfriend of 11 years kills himself to support us. We have struggled our hole life together becomeing parents at 17. We have tryed to give our children everything and more. My boyfriend came from a rough background were his mother provided for the family and his father did nothing. He doesn't want his kids to have to grow up without haveing any one around so he insist that I stay home with them. I don't mind, my mother stayed home with me when I was growing up, but it makes me feel like I'm not contributing to the household. After moving around every year for the past 11 years we finally bought a house. He works as a carpet installer which means he is self employed, he does this back breaking works by himself and has no insurence. Recently he hurt his back and had to do small jobs just to pay the bills, we have been struggleing ever sence. We have managed to keep up the regular bills but the house payment has fallen behind and now we are in forecloser. I don't know what to do. I have prayed and saved money but it is not enough to get out of forecloser they want 2800 dollaers and I only have 1500. Even if I can come up with the amount they want, then I have to go on payment arrangement and I can't afford that. I have thought about going to a local church to ask for help. But I feel like there are so many people out thier who need help more than I do. I just don't want to lose my house. My daughter has been to 5 differant schools in the last 7 years and moving would mean another school. She is only in sixth grade, I don't know what to do. I am out of ideas. We can make our regular payments and stay up with our regular bills if we can just get out of this situation. We are trying to help ourselfes and it feels like because we are no one else want to. Shouldn't it be the other why around though? I hate to ask for money when there are poeple who are worse off but if you would like to help I am willing to listen to any and all suggestions.  If you would like to help you can E-mail me at tbeachboard@comcast.net .

BOOKMAN

Need help to make it through the bad period.

Hello. I am not asking for a free handout here. I am a father of 3 small children and a beautiful wife. I sell books on the internet to pay the bills. We just make it every month. The last few months have been terrible. This month has finally been the one that we cannot make ends meet. We owe close to $3,000.00 in bills in the next week which includes $1,800.00 in rent. I have been using every penny we make to pay the bills and there has not been anything left over to re-invest in the business which is why it is getting worse. We were supposed to buy the house that we live in, but now the landlord is going to sell it to someone else before we are able to buy so we have decided to move to another state when we get our tax money back. California is so expensive to live in and as much as we love it here we have to think about our children. We can live in another state for a 3rd of what it costs to live in California. Until we get our taxes we have to figure out how to survive and pay the bills. I am asking anyone that can loan us any amount of money to please contact us. I will work to pay back all of the loans. We just do not know what to do at this point. I will sell or donate my entire book inventory to someone if that is what you want to loan or give us the money we need. I do not like to beg so I won't. I am just asking anyone that may be able to help us get through this bad period to please contact us. We do have a paypal account. Our bills average $3,000.00 a month. We have deleted all of the things that are not needed to cut bills down. I even moved 2 30' storage lockers into our house so we do not have to pay storage anymore but nothing seems to help. Please help. We are good people that love helping others as much as we can. We just happen to be the ones that need the help right now. Thank you.

Ambitious Single Mom Needs a Little Financial Help for Son's Educational Fees

Hi there,

I am a single mom of a small family. Our family consists of myself, my 13 year old son and our golden retreiver, Buddy (who is as important a member as the both of us! :-) )... I have my own copy editing, copy writing and research business and do fairly well, making a decent income. However, my son is somewhat of a special needs student and is enrolled in a private school with specialized education. He is a wonderful and amibitious child. However, he was diagnosed with severe depression a few years back and an anxiety disorder. As one would imagine, depression in a child so young was a shock. Yet, because of his shy and overly sensitive demeanor, the public school system was not a place where he could thrive. His progressive downward spiral began when he became fully aware that he was not like the other kids and was continually falling behind his peers...both academically and mentally. Today, with the right medications and the incredible help of a private school that is wonderful in dealing with children just like him, he is a happy teenager who has finally grown some confidence and a sense of worth. Nevertheless, his schooling is $900/month: a tuition that his grandparents had paid previously. Unfortunately, his grandmother (my mother) has been diagnosed with cancer and the copay for her chemotherapy appointments are $3000 each, aside from medications and other expenses. This leaves them unable to help my son, this year.

I have tried to save in every possible way in order for my son to be able to continue in this school. However, on top of rent, food, some unexpected medical expenses and all the other usual expenses involved in taking care of a child, it is just not possible. I am also struggling with some health issues of my own and the medical costs associated with that. I was previously diagnosed with bleeding ulcers and have become considerably anemic as a result. Having not pursued the treatment I should have (due to cost), I've ended up with severe anemia...for those of you in the medical field, I've had a hematocrit rate as low as 19. My continued medical appointments, blood transfusions and IV Iron therapy are quite expensive. I hate to have to choose between my own health and my son's wellbeing. Though, I will certainly choose him above all, a heatlhy child also requires a healthy mom to take care of them. Yet, without the specialized care that my son receives from his private school, I am very fearful that he will experience further issues and not receive the specialized attention he needs to become a productive and well-adjusted young adult. I am desperately hoping that I will be able to obtain a loan in the amount of  $3600 to pay for his first four months of tuition for the coming year, affording  him the opportunity to continue attending this school, while allowing me to continue my treatments for the next 4 months.

I am infinitely grateful for any help I receive and more than happy to pay back the full amount with interest and in a timely manner.

Please feel free to contact me via email: scarletletterwriting@hotmail.com
thank you for your time! :-)

I desperately need help

I am the mother of a three year old little boy and the wife of a very hard working, wonderful man.  Recently we have had financial troubles, and they just seem to be snow balling out of control.  Right now, we are $400 from losing our home.

I just started a great stay at home job that pays very well.  Unfortunately, my first check is going to come three weeks too late to do us any good.

My husband works as a security guard, but had to miss a lot of work because I was sick.  I was in and out of the hospital for a month and a half with kidney problems.  I am better now, but we as a family are very close to being homeless.  I don't know if there is anyone out there that can or will help us.  I view this mostly as my prayer that someone will hear.

Any help I receive is going to be paid back to this site to others needing the same help I do now.

Please...if you can help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  God bless.

Hi everyone! I am here in hopes of trying to get some help. I am a mother of two and a grandmother of four. I have been out of work for a while and just got a job! Hooray!! The problem is that I am in debt! I know I have a job now and will do my best to pay my bills but I would like to pay them off as soon as possible to get my credit reestablished. I am hoping that I can get someone to help me in paying off asap! I would pay you back with a payment plan. My debt is around 20k, but I figure I could probably negotiate with creditors to around 12k? This is not a con! I am real, a grandmother that has been there for her family and only hope to be able to continue in helping them as well as others. Thank you for not making fun of this situation. Only serious responses PLEASE! Thank you.

I am a 54 year old man living in Thane, province Maharashtra in India.  I am married with two kids. My two kids are studying in school/college. I am a self employed person and have no such fixed monthly income. Most of the time I have to borrow money to feed my family and to pay fees for school education.  My family live in below poverty line.  We live in a tiny house admeasuring approximately about 220 sq. ft.  I am trying hard to buy a little larger house, so that we can live in it without any suffocation.  As I have no finance of my own to buy a home, I am seeking help from kind hearted people.
